Website Audit

Maybe you’ve got a website today but are not happy with pieces of it. Maybe your website hasn’t been looked at in a long time because your web developer has moved on to bigger and better things. Maybe you just want a fresh set of eyes on your website?

Audit is a scary word, and trust me, from my days as the Chief Technology Officer at an international non-profit, it generally meant nothing but trouble. But not all audit findings are created equal, and not all findings need to be actionable.

As a very small company not looking for large on-going contracts, you can trust that I will be able to make sense of the current state of your website, and provide recommendations that are relevant and actionable.

Our audit focuses on the following general areas:

  • Speed – how fast do the pages load and are there basic optimizations that can be implemented
  • Security – looking for the most basic protections and best practices against being compromised
  • Hosting – basic review of your hosting account to ensure proper setup and usage
  • Content review – look at the basic organization of your content and site, including usage of pages, posts, categories and site structure
  • Integration – connection and configuration of services such as Google, Bing, Analytics
  • Usability – website formatting, styling, calls to action, newsletters, social sharing
  • Basic search optimization – use of keywords, metadata, linking, images
